1. Names on tickets match your ID exactly
If either of you has already changed your last name after getting married, check which name is on the ID you're traveling with — and make sure the ticket matches that exactly, not the new last name if your passport still shows the old one.
2. The double room is confirmed, not just requested
Requesting it by chat or phone doesn't always get recorded. Make sure the hotel's written confirmation says double bed or double room, and if any honeymoon perk was promised (upgrade, welcome bottle), that it's noted there too.
3. Travel insurance that covers both of you
Especially if you're headed to Europe, where a minimum-coverage policy is required to enter. Confirm the policy lists both of you as insured, not just whoever bought it.
4. Dates leave room after the wedding
Going straight from the reception to the airport leaves no margin to fix anything if a last-minute problem comes up. If you can, build in a buffer day between the wedding and the flight.
5. The first day's transfer, already sorted
You'll arrive tired and with zero energy to figure out transportation in an unfamiliar airport. Having the airport-to-hotel transfer booked, or at least written down, saves the worst part of day one.
6. If the trip was a gift, confirm it's booked under the couple's names
When godparents or family arrange the honeymoon as a gift, the booking sometimes ends up under the name of whoever paid, not the travelers. It's worth confirming ahead of time that the passengers listed on each booking are the right ones.
